Founder and Member of GreatManJohn, formerly known as Anabolic Answering, one of the longest running Bodybuilding boards.
who is john?
well, theres only one john dunning, lol.
john dunning was a bodybuilder from doncaster, he was a big guy, and well respected and knowledgable in all the local gyms where he would supply his supplement range from his popular website. (i found him there)
we then communicated by phone and the friendship began.
i found john to be a very honest, genuine, kind, caring and upfront.
as well as extremely knowledgeable and not just on bodybuilding.
He had a love for the medieval age, even owning a full coat of arms.
great sense of humor, always up for a laugh and a wind up.
i can remember times we would log onto a 3d chat system, and run around as these tiny graphics annoying the hell out of everyone.
but he was serious too.
he didnt believe in big stupid cycles, or even doing steroids before you was ready too.
John was a guy that would say steroids was a last resort.
Get your diet right, your training right, your rest and recuperation, before anything else and he didnt like the younger guys doing steroids either.
if he seen some of the dosages done today by some of the beginners.....
John believed the same as me, that you cant call yourself a bodybuilder if you dont train ya legs!
he would always laugh at the guy in the gym that went all out on his upper body, but had these pathetic stilts to walk around on.
finally, John gained alot of respect on the internet, because of the amount of people he would help via email.
i can remember many conversations online with John, when was was both answering emails, and he would have to get through a daily average that was over a hundred emails.
that wasnt spam emails either.
they were genuine emails from people looking for info or help...
if he missed just one day, he would struggle to get ahead again, so he made sure he sat in his computer chair and answered every email daily and not just 1 line replys too, he was genuinely interested in teaching and helping.
alot of those folk came back to the forums we had at the time, and paid there respects.
there was many condolences offered to the family, it was plain to see the respect that John had, even by those that didnt agree with his small cycles..
John Dunning died of Kidney Failure, in his 40's.
John Dunning from Doncaster, England, who has a daughter whom still comes to the board from time to time. RIP my friend. your legacy lives on, and for as long as we are here, it will always go on...
