    Biden: Paying higher taxes patriotic

Biden: Paying higher taxes patriotic for wealthy - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON - Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. In a new TV ad that repeats widely debunked claims about the Democratic tax plan, the Republican campaign calls Obama's tax increases "painful."
Don't steal my name. I am Straad. Not the straad village that's on the isle of bute. not the straad name-servers or the straad abbreviations and not even the straad players from second life, but the Straad from greatmanjohn, the gmj forums. After 8 years of breaks it's about time people quit shucking their responsibilities. There are only so many years of tax breaks a country can take before the belt begins to buckle. Add in war absoutely no oversight on the federal reserve.....and voilla! our current mess...

pike I wholeheartedly agree, this countries best years were spent between a happy median, I dont want socialism but extreme unregulated capitolism doesnt work either, I dont consider it patriotic to pay higher taxes but if we want to be a true world power again we may have to deal with it or buy the Chinese version of Rosetta stone software.

This current crunch may take my business down, last month I recorded a profit of 68k on paper but due to this crunch no one is paying me so Im having a deficit in operating loss. No matter what it says on paper cash runs a business, and my nest egg is about gone, 6 months ago I recieved and award for one of the Fabulous Fifty , I was one of the fastest growing and well capitalized business in my state over the last five years, six months later Im facing the fact it could be it. I did everything right, good benefits for my employees, great 401ks, bills always paid and because of politicians (all politicians I hate them all) and de regulation I may fall down.....The only thing keeping me sane right now is If I fall down....I did it standing up.

Didnt mean to rant but thats why I havent been around much, I have been playing an industrial game of survivor, just hoping to keep my torch lit once the tribe has spoken

Before I rant, hey Kane, always good to see ya.

    Tax breaks? shucking responsibilities?

Completely disregarding the fact that relief from excessive taxation was one of the primary reasons this country was founded, and the fact that the IRS is biggest piece of illegal shit ever, America is currently one of the HIGHEST taxed corporate environments in the world, second only to Japan! I mean, how much more $$$ do you really want to pay people to sit around and watch Jerry Springer??? How many "evil corporations" do you want to see leave the states? Fuck. Didn't New Orleans - the "pinnacle of liberal policy achievement" - teach us anything?

I will agree with you all day about the war. It's bullshit. Never should have happened. We should not have troops anywhere in the world, least of all in that shit hole middle east thats been fighting for 1000's of years.

I will agree with you all day about the Federal Reserve. Hell, I will go one step further, there shouldn't even be a Federal fucking Reserve.

But to say we need higher corporate taxes? C'mon guys. And fuck Joe Biden and his "patriotic". And fuck those George Bush AND those GD Democrats AND Republicans that got us into this mess with Fannie and Freddie, because "everyone should own a home". A few good men stood up years ago and warned of this, and were shut down because questioning sub prime mortgages was "racist".

We can argue policy all day long gentlemen, but here's the scrub, the real life lesson: I have a spreadsheet in front of me with 13 names, social security numbers, start dates and pay rates. This is my termination list for January 31, 2009 - 8% of my workforce, to offset the expected tax increases under Barack Obama's stated plans. Do you think I am the only one with this list? Argue that. Or better yet, write me a post I can show to those 13 folks how American a sacrifice they just made.
