The name Straad is used across the internet in many shapes and forms.
There are 740,000 Websites talking about the word Straad. Unfortunately, no matter how hard i search, i just can not find the famous Straad from the greatmanjohn bodybuilding forums.
There are towns and villages called Straad, there are organisations and objects. 3 quarters of a million websites and not one talking about the famous powerlifter Straad. Well, that's not strictly true since i havent actually searched any deeper than the top 100.
By the time this post has ended, not only will YOU, the searcher know yet another Straad but so will millions of others as i bring you a front page article on the word Straad and what it means.

Straad.
In Scotland, west of glasgow on the Isle of Bute, lies the village of Straad.

Ive also included a pic of the old original bungalow that was the only building at one point.

As you can see it is a very small village, comprising of 3 buildings. The first original building obviously stands out as the old tatty looking bungalow. This bungalow is made up of 3 homes. The building to the left of the bungalow looks like some sort of a hostel although due to it's close range with the bungalow, it may well be associated with the bungalow.
The house set off to the right is a much newer home.
That is all that Straad has to offer.
There are other villages that share the Isle of Bute with Straad, those villages are :-

• Kilchattan Bay
• Kildavanan
• Kingarth
• Port Bannatyne
• Rhubodach
• St Colmac

Most are bigger than Straad although not by much. The Isle of Bute lies in the Forth of Clyde. The forth of Clyde is an area of water, with just the kintyre peninsula seperating it from the Atlantic Ocean.

Straad is also the name for a group that exist on the popular 3d game called Second Life or 2nd life.
They are known as The Straad Players.
The Straad Players was invented by a guy called Steve Thompson. a song writer, musician, producer, whom brings music and entertainment within the world of Second Life. His group allows the user to try there hand at Acting, Costume Designing,set designing, set building, script writers, camera crew, editors, post production,audio technicians, voice characterisations, directors and musicians.

Straad can also stand for Special Techniques Repair Analysis Aircraft Damage
This is just an abbreviation, nothing more. It is not used online, but report requests are submitted as 'Straad Report'

He shares a room with a girl whom soon becomes his lover and the love story for Skipper Straad begins...

The front page of google consists of mainly Straad village where only half a dozen people live, a cheap film, or some government military stuff. But where is the famous Straad from the greatmanjohn site, also known as the gmj forums.

My personal origins of Straad
I read a vampire novel once and the main character was "Strahd"
about that same time I started playing a new mmorpg and every character name i tried to use was taken, including Strahd so i changed it to Straad
sounded the same and was available in the game I was playing
Then it was available in the next game I played and the next (I play a lot of games) and I found it to be quite uncommon and therefor available wherever I went. as you know even message boards sometimes your name is gone.
So I have been Straad ever since
it wasn't until I got here that someone mentioned it seemed to fit as it sounded like to huge hairy backwoods russian hermit
I just like it because no one else uses it
The whole minstrel thing in second life has me kind of pissed off
